The year's at the spring

Spring at my back door.
"The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

Robert Browning, from Pippa Passes
I spent the first day of spring wandering Atlanta — Emory and Oglethorpe University Museums — then eating out of doors in friends' backyard. A perfect opening to spring.

This afternoon, noticing the lovely scene outside my studio window (above), I'm sharing it here.

I am reminded of my mother who regularly loved to quote full stanzas of poetry and Shakespeare for no good reason except that she was reminded of such and found it great fun. One of her favorite quotes was from Pippa Passes. It's apt and I share it here with you now.
